My home is on the Bolivar Peninsula with spectacular views of the Gulf, the Marsh, the North Jetty, the Galveston/Houston Ship Channel and Galveston Island. 1 1/2 miles from the Ferry Landing across from Galveston just 3 miles across bay and 10 miles down the road to Crystal Beach.
It is the ideal lodging for your vacation, visit Moody Gardens in Galveston, take in the new Schlitterbahn, the Wasserfest area is already open and offers more than a dozen heated waterpark attractions inside the 70,000-square-foot indoor / outdoor convertible area. This portion of the park operates year-round and includes four tube slides, three speed slides, three kids’ activity areas containing a variety of children’s play elements and pint-sized slides, a secluded beach, a hot tub and the Torrent® Tidal Wave River. Join the crowd at Crystal Beach or better yet hit the beach just a 1/2 mile from the house that is nice and quiet, then come home and relax and enjoy a spectacular view of ships all lit up waiting to go to Galveston port or Houston port. Whether you enjoy the beach, fishing or watching the birds you can't find a better location.
For the birdwatchers it is behind the Houston Audubon Society's Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary and we have numerous other birding sites on the Peninsula.
For the fisherman there is no better place to fish than the North Jetty Pier, you don't have to have a boat to fish and if you are lucky enough to have a boat, the boat launch is right next to the jetty.
For the beach lovers there is no better place than the beach on the east side of the house, it is not overly crowded and just 1/2 mile from the house, or you might want to try the "Little Beach" that is 3 blocks west of the house next to Fort Travis. Which is another place that you have to experience if you have children.
